FACULTY OF ECONOMICS
Due to the demand on management of, research for, and solution to economic and engineering issues in practice in Viet Nam, in 1979, The Ministry of Water Resources and the Ministry of Education and Training allowed th Water Resources University (WRU) estalishing the Faculty of Water Resources Economics (WRE). The faculty has responsibilities of training engineers in the field of water economics.
Initially, the faculty was named Faculty; of Qualification from 1984 to 2006 renamed Water Resource Econmics Faculty, and since 2007 renamed the Department of Economics and Management (DEM). Annually, the assigned number of students enrolled is around 80.

ABILITIES OF GRADUATED STUDENTS
Water resources economic engineers can work in the following areas: Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM); Arrangement and management of business in the water sector; planning and management of socioeocnomic projects; research on the institutions and policies in water resources management.
DEM MANAGERIAL STRUCTURE
At present, the number of faculties and staffs working for DEM is 25, which includes two associate professors, one Ass. Prof. Dr. Habil, six PHD, 5 MSC, 4 PHD candidates, and about 90% of teaching staffs has at least master degree.
