Nowadays, Laboratories are equipped with full of modern devices to meet the training requirement. And they will be upgraded to international standard in coming time.
TRAINING
1. Training
Since the day of establishment, the faculty has trained specialties in construction, management and operation of hydropower stations. Hydropower construction specialty is trained up to now about 2000 engineers. Hydropower equipment specialty: 300 engineers.
2. Educational specialties:
- Hydropower and Renewable Energy Engineering including specializations: Hydropower Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering (Wind Energy, Solar Energy, Tidal Energy…); Management and Operation of energy stations
- Electrical Engineering (start to enroll students in 2008)
3. Level Degrees:
- College (2.5 years)
- College – University linkage (2 years)
- Undergraduate (4 years – 150 credits)
- Master of Science (1.5 years – 42 credits)
- Doctor of Philosophy (3 years).
Engineers of Hydropower and Renewable Energy specialty are provided with basic knowledge in civil engineering and specialized understanding to design, construct and manage… hydropower, renewable energy, hydro-project constructions and other civil constructions. These things meet the various requirement of economic – social development. After graduated, these engineers can work in consultancy, construction companies, management offices, science and technology research and training institutes in fields such as construction, management hydraulic structure, renewable energy structures and other civil structure.
Engineers of Electrical Engineering specialty can take position in fields of designing, construction, management, maintenance of electricity in various industries: automatic, generator, supply power, industrial electronic, communication, production maintenance electrical devices, and especially electricity production. After graduated, Electrical Engineers can work in manufactory, maintenance, trading, training and research.
SCIENCE RESEARCH ACTIVITIES
- Research to enhance effective power generating of hydropower plants in hydropower system.
- Research working modes of units in system.
- Research Renewable Energy.
- Research automatic control in water resource delivery and conveying systems.
- Take part in planning and investment projects, detail and construction design, review of hydropower, water resource structures.
- Lead student's science research projects, and get a lot of prizes.
